new Bash Pottery pieces

These pottery pieces are hand built, kiln fired and glazed. The method is referred to as Bash Pottery. They are created by rolling out a single slab of clay and beating it with a flat stick into the desired shape. Once I accomplish the shape; I planned opening holes to plug with cut corks and metal elements as finishing components. Enjoy, nancy

Token Necklaces and Earrings

The token necklaces are a series of necklaces and earrings with a bohemian feel and love of texture. They are created on black leather cord with a bronze closure or sterling silver closure and elements are in bronze, copper, glass, semi precious, clay, and many other finds. Great gift giving idea for the tea and art lover!
A set of two hand made tea cups, in a number of unique colorations. These are food safe. No handles.
The cups measure 2 1/2" tall x 3" wide. They could go into the dish washer, but I would only hand wash hand made items. Hand washing recommended. :)
These are just going out to the galleries so don't hesitate with your holiday shopping.

These fit beautifully into a standard 8" x 10" frame for easy framing. I prefer to keep the glass on to protect the piece. My preference is a wider wood frame (2" - 2 1/2"), but frame to your tastes and decor. Enjoy, Nancy

I started doing these petite abstract oil paintings early this year and have been really enjoying them. I'm finding out quickly ~ I'm not the only one! The oil paintings measure 4" x 4" and are all original. I am concentrating on compositional balance, my love of texture, and color field.

I find the process equally as rewarding as the end result. After the painting is dry, I double mat the painting to fit a standard 10" x 8" frame. The mat does not overlap the painting, but drops into a recess built up by foam board. The painting then sits on top of a complimenting board, so a touch of that will be revealed around the painting when viewed in the frame.

These make wonderful gifts, color accents to any room, or use on a table as part of a table scape. I particularly like a grouping of two or three accenting a small wall, which will bring in a punch of color.

These small paintings have the power of a large abstract on a small scale, with a high impact. The current price on the matted abstracts are $35.00 each! The additional plus is no custom framing! Choose to your frame to your own decor, and pop it into a standard frame. My preference is a wider frame; 2" and larger is fantastic. And there are so many out there to choose from.

I am enjoying the creation of these pieces. These are oil paintings that measure 4" x 4" on canvas board. So they are petite abstract paintings. Once complete and dry I double mat them and back them onto a darker surface. The mat measures 10" x 8" for easy framing and a wonderful and unique presentation whether displayed separately or in groups. Each painting is unique and is titled and signed. Preview of Father's day Gift

Just started my husband's Father's day gift. Actually it is only one thing that I am making him. We are creating a secret garden on our property and have one grandchild so far. I am making a door for one of the trees in the secret garden that is dedicated to "POP". It will say "Pop's Pinecone Pad" on the approximately 7 1/2" high door. I have created it out of clay which is just finishing the first firing and then will be glaze fired. I have a hinge for the door and will create a door knob. I think he will be surprised, and especially when the grandchildren will seek it out! Watch for the outcome.

New Sake set called"Earth" because of it's coloration. The vessel is mouth blown and can hold 24 oz., but that is a stretch. Comfortably it folds 22-23oz.. I almost rather think of this one as an intimate teapot and let the tea steep in the vessel. The cups hold a bit better than two oz. each and are hand built with lots of texture. Everything is FOOD SAFE, but I would take the time to hand wash.

These are larger, approximately 9 1/4" square and ready to hang flush to the wall, no need for a frame. These are built like a box and are textured on the sides: "Window Watch" and "Happy Union" .

Kiln surprises

Here are many of the kiln "Surprises". I love opening the kiln after a glaze firing. Many unusual things happen that you just can't predict. The light areas are a crackle glazed section which still needs to be revealed. I will do that with an umber oil wash. In the upper right hand corner that is a cup that is painted on my table. These items will be headed to galleries for sale and placed on Boundless Gallery for on line purchase. The flat circles are going into a collaborative project that is still in the works!

I am still busy filling the kiln for a firing that should happen on Sunday. Pictured are two clay circles that will be turned into a collaborative effort between myself and another artist ~ You will have to come back to see this!!!!!!!! Some additional hats. And I hope I can attach the picture that was taken last night of our knitting group as we celebrated "Vita's" 91st Birthday! Happy Birthday Vita!!!!

I have been working on numerous clay pieces. I am anxious to get some painting done, but at the same time, I would like to get the kiln filled for a firing. I have 3 vessels complete for firing and a number of the clay paintings, some buttons and some of the cups. The next couple weeks will be exciting to see how the glazes actually turn out. I have some neat color ideas I have been working on. You will have to wait and see.

At night I like to do the crocheting. The knitting group I belong to is knitting chemo caps for a shout out (a request from an organization). I was able to bring five the other week and I should be able to add at least another 7 to that number this Thursday evening.

Attached is a new hat with an Italian yarn that looks like little pieces of rag, just gorgeous yarn called Gedifra in varigated soft blues. Also some of the greenware that I am working on as it is drying. The flat piece has a cat imprint on it!

Okay, I received enough commments on my swimmer buttons! They should be called "Tadpoles". Think about it, "frogs" are fasteners as well as decoration on clothing. So, Tadpoles it is! Comments always welcome. :)

These are some of the two hole cresent buttons that have been fired and one was added to the neck wrap that I crocheted. Some I stamped with a clay stamp that I made, others are stamped with seashells. These are available for purchase.

studio work

Today I am working on shaping a mouth blown vessel that I started last night. Today is working on some of the refinement. Keeping some of the nice areas and deciding which areas should be eliminated. These pieces take a long time to create, but I love working with them. In this vessel I planned two additional hole elements. My plan is to wind curly willow thrown the holes or suede pieces. However, flowers could be inserted be the collector of the vessel. These vessels can be used for Sake, as teapots, or just enjoyed as a shape.

I also finished several neck wraps. The one attached is with a thick ~ thin yarn hip hop. The color is great and I added one of my new crescent shaped glazed buttons as the closure and accent. I love wearing these neck wraps on trips and to restaurants where I can tuck one in my purse and pull it out and keep those chills off my neck. Glazed Clay

The round clay piece will go into a painting! And the vessel is a Sake Vessel or could be a Teapot. I sell them as sets with 4-6 hand built cups. This is a mouth blown piece of pottery, and this vessel holds 24 oz.

Look below and you will see the same clay circle in it's greenware stage and the blown vessel just as I am working on it's shape, also greenware.

Yesterday was spent glazing all the clay pieces and today is a big firing day. The excitement will be tomorrow in removing the newly glaze fired pieces from the Kiln.

The crescent shapes will be buttons for knit wear. They are now drying before I place them in the kiln for their first firing. The circle shape is about 10" in diameter and that is being prepared for a painting. You are looking at it in the kiln. I have attached two abstract paintings of mine where I have added clay to the painted surface. Currently I am really pleased with my Sake sets that you can find on Boundless Gallery (on the Internet) or in galleries or by contacting me.

Well, after it took me what seemed like forever to figure out the slide show. I finally "GOT IT". What I placed on the blog might just be my first and possibly only "slide show", these are all veritcal figurative paintings ~ enjoy!

I am back to finishing some clay paintings and some clay cups today in the studio. I created a circular element that I would like to add to a painting. My plan is to get these few additional pieces to the kiln for the first firing by Sunday. I am always anxious to do the glazing, but I want the kiln to be filled. I worked outside with the clay. Tonight will be a night of crocheting. One gallery needs a few additional fiber pieces.
